Most of us go through life switching gears and going in different directions to pursue a better life for both financial reasons and for peace of mind.In my life, I never stopped to consider a Walmart career or any other retail career for that matter because I saw these jobs as a dead end slave-type job where I would have to work odd hours and shift work.
The only problem is; I missed the boat.
Looking back I wish I would have pursued a Walmart career straight out of college because I spent quite a few years bouncing from job to job in my never ending quest for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
I have a younger cousin who heard about job openings at Walmart, and he was recently hired after going through a pretty quick hiring process. Although he went in as an entry level associate, he's happy making a little more than 9.50 an hour at the ripe young age of 20.
My cousin doesn't seem to have any aspirations right now about finishing college and perhaps getting into the management side of Walmart in the future; he's simply enjoying life with his friends, and he says he always has the most cash to spend out of the whole bunch when they go out and party on the weekends.
What the heck! He's young, so he's probably entitled. i just hope he's able to focus into his future, and I'm praying he finishes school so he can progress through the company ranks.
No matter who you are; if you are trying to make ends meet, a Walmart job application just might be able to change your life drastically. they offer one of the highest starting salaries for entry level workers in the retail industry.
Knowing what I know now, I know exactly what a Walmart career would mean to me if I lost my current job today; I would apply to them in a heartbeat, and use my education to get the best position possible. In today's world, I might have to settle for a Wal Mart associate position to start, but I guarantee you I would progress rapidly through the system with my hard work ethic and ambition.
A job at Walmart can mean the difference between working for a company with no proven track record on shaky ground at best or working for the best and most stable retail chain in the world. Your job security would be sealed. That has to be the most appealing aspect of working at WM.
Aside from that there's plenty of room for growth and many employees find themselves in management positions fairly quickly after starting out as associates.
For now, I'll continue praising and preaching to friends and family some of whom are currently unemployed and still looking, to consider filling out a Walmart online job application to see what happens. They may be pleasantly surprised if they're hired, I tell them, knowing deep inside they're absolutely going to love working there.
